💥Calming the Circle Therapy with Amy Primrose - Untangling the things parents don’t talk about💥
Emma is joined by Amy from Calming The Circle Therapy.
In this episode Emma and Amy chat about challenges parents come across, different attachment Styles in Relationships, trigger feels and glimmers of hope.
Three key problems Mums experience:
- The consistent presentation includes anxiety and overwhelm
- Relationship breakdowns
- Recovering from relational/attachment trauma
Amy works closely with individuals, couples, and families to nurture and heal relationships—both with oneself and with loved ones. She draws from systems theory, attachment theory, and neuroscience, recognising that our relationships are deeply influenced by the environments where we first learned about ourselves.
Life’s experiences shape our neural pathways, impacting how we see ourselves, regulate emotions, and connect with others.
Amy’s approach involves identifying these systems and any attachment wounds, understanding their effects on our self-perception and nervous system, and guiding clients through holistic interventions that foster healing, realign brain connections, and bring about a calmer, more balanced nervous system, greater sense of identity and self, and this in turn fosters an environment where positive communication and connection can evolve within relationships.
Amy’s why, began when she was in her mid 30's, engaging in the same conversations over and over—questions like:
- Why am I so exhausted?
- Why do I love and hate parenting in the same day?
- Why am I so overstimulated? Why does my partner’s voice trigger me?
- Why am I so quick to react?
- Why am I so unhappy?
- Why do I feel lost and unmotivated?
- Why am I experiencing social anxiety?
- Why do I hate myself?
- Why can't I fall pregnant?
Amy experienced these recurring questions fuelled my passion to help others navigate these challenges, finding clarity and peace in their lives.
As Amy delved deeper into her studies, she became fascinated by the neuroscience behind why we are the way we are. Understanding this provided a clear explanation of why therapy works. She is passionate about therapy that is grounded in understanding the brain, mind, body connection, and the science supports it every step of the way.
