Mum Life Untangled

Pelvic Health, Birth Trauma & Recovery Untangled

Emma Bunting

Emma is joined by Lissy who is a Pelvic Health Physio from The Pelvic Health Physio, on the Sunshine Coast in Minyama.

In this episode Emma and Lissy chat about pelvic floor health, what mums can expect, birth trauma awarness and where so find support & how long it takes for the body to recovery.

If you have met Lissy, you will know how passionate she is about female health (and THE PELVIC FLOOR).
She truly believes that our pelvic health is such an important part of our female health journey.  When women travel through different stages from living through periods, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, menopause... on a clinical level our pelvic floor support our bladder, bowel and sexual health. On a whole-person level, really, our pelvic health is responsible for how we interact with the rest of the world, what activities/sports we take part in, our intimacy/relationships and our overall confidence.   Lissy  first started her journey diving into pelvic health over 6 years ago and every day, she  feels so extremely grateful that Lissy and her team get the opportunity to work with ladies, hear their journey, and support them in feeling their best and most confident version of themselves.

They see such a variety of females every day at the clinic, and it shows us just how truly resilient and brave females are.  On a clinical level, the research and resources we have available in female health today is improving and we are fortunate to have such great evidence-based tools and proactive/preventative measures we can take to support females pelvic health across their life.

Lissy and her team has a few different modalities including: Pelvic Floor Physiotherapists, Pilates Reformer Studio - clinical classes tailored for Pregnancy classes, Mums & Bubs, Pelvic Floor Reformer classes
